Grandma's Cake and Cupcakes, Texas Sheet Cake

GRANDMA#CAKE AND CUPCAKES                                 Thelma Huber

2 c. sugar
2 heaping Tbsp, butter
  or Crisco
2 eggs
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
Optional: 2 Tbsp, cocoa

Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs. Add milk, vanilla, baking
powder and flour. Beat. For chocolate cake: add 2 Tbsp, cocoa, for
deeper chocolate add more cocoa. For marble cake, pour 3/4 batter
into cake pan. Add 1 Tbsp, cocoa to remaining 1/4 batter. Mix. Swirl
chocolate batter through yellow batter. For cupcakes, pour into cup­
cake tins. Bake in 350 degree oven until done. Prick with toothpick,
it's done when the toothpick stays clean. Cakes take about 30 to 35
minutes. Cupcakes take «bout 15-20 minutes.

2 c. flour
11/2 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk *
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Icing:
l stick margarine
5 Tbsp, milk
1/4 c. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
