This is a nightline episode from 1981 about how recording TV shows to your BetaMax deck is illegal.
This was before the final Betamax decision.
The funny thing is that it features Sony versus studios and TV networks.
Sony now IS one of the studios ;)
RCA videodisc is "the coming thing" too .... haaa haaa!
The satellite people got pay-per-view right though... just took about 20 years.
